All the forums and helps say much the same, your money is lost!
So it’s good that you have found us! We are here to help, whilst we cannot guarantee that we will be able to recover your password we have a very high success rate.
NOTE: We cannot work with online-only wallets as we require a backup / copy of your "wallet.dat" in order to do the recovery.
We provide the below services for you to obtain your $bitcoin$ hash which is the hashed version of your password so you can try to recover it.
We can also calculate your balance from your wallet.dat file also which is quicker then syncing it to the Bitcoin blockchain.
If you use off-line core wallets or wallets like Electrum or Ripple, we can most certainly help you. In order to obtain a copy of your wallet.dat file, you can simply get a backup of the wallet from your wallet software.
If this is not possible, you can search for you wallet.dat file in either the software folder or in the following locations:
- Windows:-
Open a File Windows and type this into the address bar: %appdata%
The press enter.
Numerous folders will show so look for one which relates to your wallet software you use.
Open that folder and look for a wallet.dat file or maybe another "wallet" folder.
Once found, copy / ZIP the file / folder and send to us.
- Apple / iOS:-
The Bitcoin wallet on Mac OS X is located in "~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/wallet.dat".
In order to see hidden folders, such as "~/Library" from Finder, simply hit shift + ⌘ (command) + G which will GO to a folder, then paste in this location: "~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin"
- Linux:-
By default Bitcoin will put its data here: "~/.bitcoin/"
You need to do a "ls -a" to see directories that start with a dot.
If that's not it, you can do a search like this: "find / -name wallet.dat -print 2>/dev/null"
